East Yorkshire Family History Society

East Yorkshire Family History Society was formed February 1977. There are regular meetings  in Beverley, Hull, Bridlington and East Yorkshire Family History Society was formed February 1977. There are regular meetings  in Beverley, Hull, Bridlington and Scarborough, It covers a large part of Yorkshire including the historic East Riding and parts of the North Riding. Until 1974, Yorkshire was the largest county in England and was divided into three administrative districts - the East, North and West Ridings. The word "Riding" comes from the Old Norse word meaning a third.
