The State Library's collection contains over 5 million items including more than 2 million books, 1.2 million microforms, 1.1 million photographs, as well as newspapers, maps, architectural plans, manuscripts and other items. Some of the services offered include an online catalogue, manuscripts and pictures search, research guides, family history help, Ask a librarian and access to e-Recources for all residents of New South Wales.
eResources offers free home access to 168+ subscription databases. For access you need to register as a State Library client online. You can use an existing New South Wales public library card or apply online for a State Library of New South Wales card which will be mailed to you.
