It lists contact details, any transcript details, available lookups, online photographs, undertakers' data, location maps and links to available online data. A great site and well worth a visit.

Australian Cemeteries Index by Reg McDonell A searchable database of cemetery inscriptions from 910+ cemeteries in Australia, mostly regional NSW, QLD and SA with some from other states. Digital images of the headstone accompany most of the inscriptions. These are free to download and use without restriction. 

Australian Cemetery Geolocations   This site, by Paul Blair,  records the location of Australia’s cemeteries. It lists latitude and longitude, address plus a map link showing the cemetery’s location. 

Interment.net This site lists records for cemeteries worldwide including Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom and United States. All the Australian cemeteries listed can be surname searched using the site search engine on the Australian listing. 

FamilySearch The free Historical Record Collections for Australia and New Zealand include: 
• Queensland Cemetery Records, 1802-1990 This collection includes images of a card index which combines several indexes, cemetery transcriptions, burial and other records from cemeteries in Queensland. This collection also contains small portions of New South Wales, Norfolk Island, Tasmania, and Western Australia. There are 1,121,438 images available to browse.

Australian Cemeteries list of Australian Territories cemeteries These includes the Australian Capital Territory, Gallipoli War cemeteries, Norfolk Island cemetery, the Northern Territory and Papua New Guinea War cemeteries. Contact details, any transcript details, available lookups, online photographs, undertakers' data, location maps and links to available online data are included.

Cemeteries of the Darling Downs and Beyond This extensive site contains a database and  many photographs of cemeteries in and around South-East Queensland and Northern NSW. Information is arranged alphabetically by cemetery. Each cemetery has a surname index but the site does not have a global surname search facility so you will need to know the name of the cemetery.

Australian Cemeteries NSW This site by S and M Grieves has transcripts listing surname, given name/s, date died and age available for Binalong, Bookham, Boorowa, Bowning, Burrabogie (near Hay), Coolac, Jugiong, Langs Creek, Rosewood, Tangmangaroo, Tumbarumba, Tumblong and Yass.

Lorraine's Burial Records A site by Lorraine Larment. The New South Wales online records include Baldry, Bodalla, Carcoar, Frogmore, Graham, Iandra, Mogo, Monteagle, Tilba and Wombat.

Ballina and Richmond River GenWeb - Online Cemetery Index This index includes East Ballina, Rous, Tintenbar, Wardell and Woodburn cemeteries.

Bathurst Cemetery Headstone Inscriptions Index This index by the Family History Group of Bathurst lists names, year died, age and reference. A list of the small cemeteries in the district is available.

Belligen Shire Council The cemetery register (listed under Works and Services > Cemeteries) which covers cemeteries at Belligen, Dorrigo, Fernmount and Urunga can be downloaded from this site.

Blue Mountains Regional Cemetery Database This database covers Mt Irvine, Mt Victoria, Blackheath, Katoomba, Wentworth Falls, Lawson, Faulconbridge and Springwood.

Cemeteries of the Central Tablelands Region by Interment.net Includes cemeteries at Caloola (part),  Lowther, Lowther Park and Slippery Creek/Hazelgrove.

Clarence Valley Cemeteries Register This online burial register covers ashes internments and burials within the Clarence Valley and is updated each year in August and February. Clarence Valley Council operates and maintains the following cemeteries: Clarence Lawn Cemetery - Grafton, Maclean Lawn Cemetery, Ulmarra Cemetery, Iluka Columbarium, Lawrence Cemetery,   Glenreagh Cemetery, Coutts Crossing Cemetery, Nymboida Cemetery, Eatonsville/Mylneford Cemetery, Copmanhurst Cemetery,  Grafton Cemetery (closed), South Grafton Cemetery (closed) and Old Maclean Cemeteries (closed). 

Coolamon Shire Council  - Cemetery Database This database includes Ardlethan, Coolamon, Ganmain, Marrar, North Berry Jerry and Rannock cemeteries. This database is available as a PDF download. Updated

Deniliquin Genealogy Society This site has online name indexes for those buried in cemeteries at Deniliquin, Finley, Berrigan, Jerilderie and Mathoura.

Glenmore Uniting Church Graveyard This online list, by Marlane Fairfax, includes names, date of death, age and indicates if a headstone or obituary exists.

Goulburn - Old Goulburn General Cemetery A transcript by Cathy Dunn on the Australian Cemeteries site. New

Maitland City Council Burial Register This can be downloaded as an Excel file and includes cemeteries at East Maitland, Campbells Hill, Morpeth and Rutherford plus historical cemeteries at Glebe, Hiland Crescent East Maitland, Oakhampton, Oswald and the Jewish Cemetery East Maitland.

Milton Ulladulla Local and Family History  This site by Cathy Dunn includes local burial indexes 1900-1903. Transcripts are available for Sandridge Cemetery (Mollymook), Tomakin Cemetery and the Woodstock Congregational Cemetery (Milton).

Cemetery Records Murwillumbah to Tweed Heads This index by Jenny Brandis includes eleven cemeteries and over 7000 names. The index lists names, ages at death, date of death and cemetery.

Newcastle - Sandgate Cemetery. Searches are available with results linked to Google maps and a photograph of the plot/headstone if available. New

Balmain Cemetery This cemetery was opened in 1868 and closed in 1912. This site, by Tricia Mack, contains information on the history of the cemetery plus other information. The Cemetery Registry Index 1868-1912 can be downloaded as a PDF file. Updated  

Carlingford Anglican Cemetery This cemetery is listed on the Australian Cemeteries Index by Reg McDonell.

Canterbury City Cemeteries Online Covers Moorefields Methodist, Kingsgrove plus St Barnabas Memorial Garden and St Saviour's, Church of England, Punchbowl. St Paul's Church of England, Canterbury is ongoing.

Catholic Cemeteries Board (Sydney)  The online Deceased Search includes: Rookwood Catholic Cemetery and Quaker, Field of Mars (Ryde), Greendale, Liverpool, North Rocks and Kemps Creek.

Cemeteries of Sydney Metropolitan Region This site by Interment.net includes Chatswood South Methodist, Jamistown (Sir John Jamison Catholic) and Penrith (St Mary Magdalene).

Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park (Sydney)  Incorporates Botany Cemetery and Eastern Suburbs Crematorium. There are details of Pioneer Park where headstones from early Sydney burial grounds have been relocated. Online searches of the cemetery and crematorium records are available.

Frenchs Forest Bushland Cemetery (Sydney) This cemetery dates from 1940 and offers an online Deceased Search.

Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium (Sydney) Formerly known as the Northern Suburbs cemetery. This site includes a Genealogy Search

Northern Suburbs Crematorium (Sydney) This site offers information only and no online records.

Rookwood Anglican and General Cemeteries (Sydney) To use the Deceased Search facility you have to register as a user (free).

Jewish Cemetery Rookwood (Sydney) There is an online Search for a Grave facility which offers searches of over 27,000 records. A search returns details of the deceased, a map and photograph of the headstone if available. 

Rookwood Independent Cemetery (Sydney) The online Deceased Search includes Field of Mars (Ryde), Independent, Lutheran, Methodist and Presbyterian burials. The Independent cemetery caters for the following denominations: Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Bylorussian Orthodox, Ukrainian Orthodox, Syrian Orthodox, Coptic Orthodox, Lutheran, German, Latvian, Estonian, The Salvation Army, Baptist, Church of Christ, Brethren, Christadelphian, Pentecostal, Korean, Tongan, Jehovah's Witness, Lebanese Evangelical, Latter Day Saints/Mormon, Presbyterian, Methodist, Antioch, Uniting, Congregational, Romanian Orthodox and Albanian Orthodox. Woronora Cemetery and Crematorium This cemetery serves the metropolitan area of Sydney. Records date from the late 1890s. An online name search is available.

Tocumwal Cemetery This project by the Cobram Genealogy Group includes an index of surnames. There is also an index of surnames of those buried in the Barooga cemetery.

Trunkey Creek Local Cemeteries Burials Index This index by Barry Cubitt includes cemeteries at Trunkey Creek, Arkell (Long Swamp), Neville (Public), Hobbys Yards, Caloola and Abercrombie.

City of Wagga Wagga Crematorium and Cemeteries The Council maintains six cemeteries and one crematorium. The rural cemeteries are located at Humula, Tarcutta, Uranquinty and Currawarna. The Cemetery Mapping Portal offers searches by name. Updated

Brisbane City Council online grave location searches available for Bald Hills (Sandgate), Balmoral (Bulimba/Morningside), Brookfield, Cedar Creek, Hemmant, Lutwyche, Moggill, Mt Gravatt, Nundah (German Station), Pinnaroo, South Brisbane (Dutton Park) and Toowong. There are also details for Paddington cemetery (now Suncorp Stadium) which operated from 1844 to 1870 and was Brisbane Town's main cemetery. There are a number of PDF documents listing remains and headstones that were moved to other cemeteries. 

Bundaberg Regional Council Regional Cemeteries include: Apple Tree Creek, Booyal, Gin Gin General & Lawn, Avondale, Childers Lawn, Goodnight Scrub, Bundaberg General & Lawn, Cordalba, Invicta (Historical), Boolbunda, Currajong (Comonju) and South Isis (Historical). An online search is available but work on the cemetery burial database is ongoing. 

Moreton Bay Region Cemeteries Database This database includes cemeteries at Albany Creek, Bribie Island Memorial Gardens, Caboolture & Districts Lawn cemetery, Caboolture & District Colubarium, Caboolture (King Street), Dayboro, Lawnton, Redcliffe, Samford and Samsonvale. 

Muttaburra, Central Queensland. This site offers an online search of the cemetery and nearby bush graves. Digital images are available for all headstones in the Muttaburra cemetery. New

Nudgee Catholic Cemetery (Archdiocese of Brisbane) offers an online Deceased Search.

Rockhampton Regional Council Cemeteries/Crematoriums. This site features information, maps plus online burial indexes and ashes indexes (where applicable). Somerset Regional Council’s Online Burial Register Search includes cemeteries at Bryden, Caboonbah, Esk, Fairview, Fernvale, Kilcoy, Linville, Lowood, Moore, Toogoolawah and Wivenhoe Pocket.

South-East Queensland cemeteries headstone photo collection. This extensive site has a search facility across all available cemetery collections plus a photo caption search. Individual photos can be downloaded and used for non-profit personal research purposes. There are also some cemetery photo collections available for other states, mostly Western Australia.

Toowoomba Regional Council’s Deceased Search is available for Back Plains, Cabarlah, Cecil Plains, Clifton, Cooyar, Crows Nest, Djuan, Douglas, Drayton & Toowoomba, Glencoe, Goombungee, Greenmount, Kooroongarra, Millmerran, Nobby, Pittsworth, St Paul’s Church Tummaville and Yarraman. You can also print an A4 colour page showing the deceased's details, maps on how to get to the interment site and a photo of the memorial (if available).

Western Downs Regional Council, Dalby Qld - Online cemetery search includes the following cemeteries: Chinchilla (Tanderra monumental), Condamine, Dalby monumental, Downfall Creek, Flinton, Jandowae, Meandarra, Miles,  Moonie, Tanderra Lawn (Chinchilla), Tara, The Gums, Wandoan plus private cemeteries. Gravesecrets at your fingertips.  This site offers access to a collection of cemetery headstone photos from South Australia. Currently there are 289,500+ headstone photos available from 702 cemeteries. The collection covers most of the Adelaide Metropolitan Area, Adelaide Hills and South Australian country areas - including the South East, Clare and Barossa Districts, Riverland and the Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas and northern areas of the state. Single photographs are $2.50 each on request. Individual cemeteries and district compilations are also available.

Online Searching of 200+ SA Council Cemeteries . The Family History South Australia site which provides resources for family history research on South Australians includes a link to the Local Government Association of South Australia's network which offers statewide searches of the 200+ cemeteries. Devonport City Council  offers online searches of the Mersey Vale Memorial Park cemetery.

North West Tasmanian Coastal Cemeteries. This site currently includes Devonport - Bluff cemetery; Don - St Olaves and Congregational; Forth - Anglican pioneer, Congregational, Methodist Wesleyan and St Josephs Catholic; Kindred - Methodist and Leith- Lillico Beach. This site also includes funeral notices and obituaries from newspapers where available.

Carol's Headstone Photographs. Over 300 cemeteries have been photographed and free photos are available upon request. Cemeteries covered are predominately Victorian with a few from other states. Photos of a small number of War Memorials in Victoria are also available. Melbourne Dead Persons Society's Victorian Databases - Cemetery Records include: Bundalong (near Yarrawonga), Graytown, Winton, Nillumbik (Diamond Creek) and Carlyle (Rutherglen). There is also an alphabetical list of links to other online cemetery records in Victoria.

Cemeteries of S. W. Victoria by Ian Marr. This extensive collection of cemetery indexes is arranged alphabetically by place name. A global surname index is also available.

Lorraine's Burial Records by Lorraine Larment. Victorian online records include Anderson's Creek - Warrandyte, Casterton, Dargo, Ensay, Hawkesdale, Kyneton, Marlo, Ross Bridge and Woolsthorpe plus partial transcriptions for a selection of other cemeteries.

Grave Finder: Victoria Australia. This site has lists for 25 cemeteries in Victoria. Each lists cemetery name, photo number, surname, name, year born (if available), year died and age. Copies of photos are available by email. There is also a Death Certificates page with details from a selection of Victorian death certificates.

Ballaarat General Cemeteries offers four online searches: pre 1856; cemetery records; the Book of Rememberance and cemetery trivia.

Bendigo Cemeteries Trust. The online database includes cemeteries at Axedale, Bendigo, Eaglehawk, Kangaroo Flat, White Hills plus Neangar Memorial Park Crematorium. A search returns names, sometimes date of death and interment number. Further details are available for a fee.

Boroondara General Cemetery, commonly known as the Kew Cemetery. Online searching of the grave archive is available. 

Brighton Cemetorians is a non-profit community group formed in 2005 to raise the awareness of Brighton General Cemetery (Melbourne). The burials register (1855 to current) is not online but the Brighton Cemetorians offer a free lookup service which is self-funded through donations received from satisfied patrons.

Brighton General Cemetery (Caulfield South) by T Sellers details the history, historic interments and includes 260+ online biographies of the famous and infamous buried at the cemetery. A search service is available.

Bunurong Memorial Park, Dandenong South, offers an online searchable database of burials. Includes an online searchable database of burials.

Cranbourne Public Cemetery. An online search of the cemetery register is available.

Creswick Cemetery. An online list of burials is available.

Geelong Cemeteries Trust.
