State Records New South Wales. Indexes Online include an 1841 Census Name Search of surviving householders' returns and abstracts which lists householder or owner; return number; residence and references. There is also 1891 and 1901 Collectors' Books which list district names but not individuals.

Ancestry.com.au offers searchable databases, and images, for muster and convict lists for New South Wales (1806, 1811, 1822-1825, 1837) and Van Diemen's Land (1808-1849). There are also New South Wales and Tasmanian settler and convict lists (1787-1834). The records are fully indexed with a free surname search. A variety of subscription options offer access to the digitised copies of the original records.

Archives Office of Tasmania. Index to Census Records covers surviving Tasmanian census records from 1837, plus some for 1838, 1842, 1843, 1848, 1851 and 1857 for Tasmania. It lists family and given names, if under 14 years old, district, reference and page. Copies of the records are available from the Archives for a fee.
