First Derry Archives – Plantation and Penal Laws

This site, designed as a school resource, explores the rich history of the city of Derry-Londonderry from the beginning of the Plantation of Ulster through to the implementation of strict Penal Laws against Catholics and Dissenters in the late 17th century. The site lists sources documenting the history of the city from the late 16th century to the early 18th century. There is information, links to sources and online resources available.  The Archive lists records held by the First Derry Presbyterian Church – 19th and 20thcentury baptism, marriage and burial registers, communicant rolls plus church, communicant and session minutes.
