The Library collects and preserves Western Australia’s documentary heritage. Use the Explore & Discover tab Family History to access information and an online version of the guide book Dead Reckoning: a guide to family history research in WA. You can also explore the records for ships, ships’ logs, voyage journals, passenger lists and images.
There is also Guides to Family History – Australian Joint Copying Project (AJCP). The AJCP is an important collection of microfilmed records from archives all over Britain. It includes records for convicts, the military, early settlers and much more. This AJCP guide is in two parts. The first covers background, types of records available and how it is organised. The How to Use the AJCP link to part two is at the bottom of part one and covers how to use the handbooks to access this collection of 5,000 microfilm.
