FamilySearch Historical Record Collections – Ireland

There are 13 Historical Record Collections for Ireland. They include:
• Births and Baptisms, 1620-1881
• Civil Registration Indexes, birth, death & marriages 1864-1958. Marriage index 1845-1864 (non-Catholic)
• Calendar of Wills and Administrations, 1858-1920
• Census 1821 (surviving fragments); Census 1831 (surviving fragments); Census 1841 (surviving fragments); Census 1851 (surviving fragments)
• Census 1841 and 1851 Search Forms (searched to establish a person’s age when they applied for the old age pension from 1908)
• Deaths, 1864-1870
• Marriages, 1619-1898
• Tithe Applotment Books 1814-1855. These books were compiled to determine the amount of tithes (tax) to be paid to the Church of Ireland by those who occupied agricultural lands. The books contain the following: Townland name, landholders’ names, amount of land held and amount to be paid in tithes. They may also record the landlord’s name and assessment of the economic productivity of the land. These records are indexed and linked to digitised images of the original records.
• Valuation Office Books, 1831-1856 – These records are the original notebooks that were used when the property valuations were conducted by the Office of the General Valuation of Ireland – the Griffith’s Valuation
