This site lists the significant events in the history of the NSW Police Force dating from 1788 to current. There is also an Honour Roll that commemorates those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the execution of their duty. The roll records the name, rank, date and a precis of each death. The first recorded death in Australia of a serving Police member was on 26 Aug 1803 – Const Joseph Luker – assaulted and stabbed by offenders (Sydney Foot Police). The Honour Roll dates from 1862 until current.
