Queensland State Archives holds archival information about the Boer War. First World World and Second World War.
Boer War: Records relate to the six contingents of the Queensland Defence Force which fought in the Boer War from 1899 to 1902 in South Africa.
First World World records include:
• Aboriginal War Census returns 1915-1916
• Boer War 1899-1902 – records the names and pay records of Queenslanders who served in ranks in the South African War 1899-1902.
• TB Home applications 1923-1932 – Correspondence of the Anzac Committee which was set up to erect homes for homeless widows and orphans of fallen soldiers. On 23 June 1923 the funds of the Anzac Committee were voted to be used to provide homes for returned soldiers who were suffering from T.B. The index is to the applications by returned servicemen with T.B for T.B Homes. The applications include the personal and war details of the applicant and the particulars of land or district where the applicant desires the dwelling house to be erected.
