There are 8,000+ digitised photographs of the ACT and region mostly from collections donated by The Canberra Times and the Commonwealth Department of Capital Territory from the 1950s to the 1990s. These indexes cover :
• Civil servants 1865-1867
• Dental Board 1903-1932
• Imperial pensions 1872-1915 - These registers recorded personal accounts for pensions paid through the Treasury Department to persons previously employed by the Imperial Government. Details recorded include the date, name of pensioner, occasionally the service (regiment) name, cheque number, amount of pension or cheque, and stoppage (date). From 1901 there is a signed audit at the end of each month.
• Imperial pensions 1898-1912 - This series consists of registers of personal accounts for pensions paid through the Treasury to persons who were previously employed by the Imperial Government, living in such places as Rockhampton, Mackay, Charters Towers, Roma and Townsville. Information provided include: name of account holder; regiment (mostly Chelsea, East India Co., Greenwich, R.I. Fusiliers, Army Reserve, Returned, Royal Irish Constabulary, Navy Civil Pension, etc.); quarter; papers details; cheque sent; amount; address; remarks (sometimes including date of death), etc.
• Nurses examinations 1915-1925
• Seamen 1882-1919
• Teachers 1860-1904
Copies of the documents are available from QSA for a fee.

This archives provides access to publicly available ACT Government records older than 20 years. There is an extensive Image Gallery with access to online collections of photographs. Site features include Find of the Month (Nov 2012 – the 1986 Papal visit); links to external sites (great set of ACT links); Yarralumla nursery records plus much more. Find of the Month are available online from June 2008 and contain a fascinating range of digitised material from kerosene heaters to sheep grazing in the Canberra City area 1952.
